A few things to get right.

Light

Adaptable from lower light to brighter conditions. Introduce direct sun gradually.

Water

Allow the mix to dry between waterings, especially when growth is slow. Never leave it standing in water.

Soil & drainage

A very well-drained mix and a pot with drainage holes.

Growth & routine

An upright clump with thick leaves. Lower light usually means slower growth and drying.

What to watch for

Soft bases or persistently wet soil call for a closer look at drainage and roots.

A small care habit

A reminder should prompt a moisture check, not an automatic drink.
